PESHAWAR, Jan 9 The restoration of 1973 Constitution in its real sense was the sole solution to all problems as only constitution could guarantee a stable democracy in the country, said Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, the general secretary Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said that government should review the special package, announced for NWFP, and increase the incentives. He said that the announced relief package for the province, especially for Malakand division, was inadequate.

Mr Jhgra said hat the peoples of the province should also be dealt like those of Karachi, who were immediately compensated after a bomb blast.

He said that government should not waste time on non-issues. If the government continued wasting time on non-issues the problems would increase, he added.

He said that leaders of all the political and religious parties should take a unified and serious stand on all the issues of national interest to overcome the challenges.

He said that government was duty bound to properly evaluate losses in militancy-hit areas and announce the package to provide relief to the people.

People faced displacement and suffered financially, he said, adding the sky rocketing prices further added to their miseries.

Expressing his concern over the prolonged and unscheduled loadshedding of power and gas, he said that commerce and industry sectors of the province were on the verge of collapse. Most of the industrialists were compelled to close their businesses, he added.

The tax exemption and cut in utility bills in Malakand division, he said, was next to nil as people were in need of more financial support.

He urged the government to announce more funds for the people of militancy-hit areas.

The PML leader said that sole solution to the problems was restoration of 1973 Constitution in its real sense.
