SHIKARPUR, April 17 Four kidnapped employees of a private mobile company were rescued by police after an encounter with the kidnappers in the forest of Golo Daro on Friday night.

Four days ago, seven armed men abducted four employees of Eltek mobile firm namely Riaz Ahmed Arain, Khawar Gul Pathan, Jan Muhammad Mastoi and Mukhtiar Jatoi with their vehicle from the Ratodero-Jacobabad road, taluka Garhi Yasin. The victims were going to the village of Ramzanpur to repair a mobile tower.

A contingent of police cordoned off the forest of Jagan and Golo Daro and started a search operation and on Friday night, they rescued the four employees after the encounter and recovered their double cabin van.

But police failed to arrest the kidnappers.

The employees were handed over to Mr Svenn Brotlerud, the country manager of Eltek company, at the DPO office here on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference, the DPO of Shikarpur said that a kidnapper identified as Shahzado alias Shadoo Bhund of Jagan had been arrested.

He claimed that police operation would continue till the arrest of other kidnappers.

Mr Svenn appreciated the efforts of Shikarpur police.
