MINGORA, Sept 19 Swat Qaumi Aman Jirga has said that the absconding militants have no other option but to lay down arms and surrender to the security forces without delay.

During a meeting of the Qaumi Aman Jirga here on Sunday, the participants, who also included Nekpikhel Jirga members, announced to continue extending support to the security forces to flush out militants from the area.

The jirga members demanded of the government to give a practical shape to Darul Qaza setup in Swat.

The participants said that the Nekpikehl area, which had been affected by militant activities in the past, was badly hit in recent floods. They said that the militants who were hiding should immediately surrender to the security forces. The absconding militants had no other way but to abandon their activities and surrender to the security forces, the jirga said.

The jirga demanded of the government to focus on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the flood affected areas in Swat.

Meanwhile, the security forces presented five militants, who had surrendered, before media at the Saidu Sharif Airport on Sunday.

The militants, who had surrendered to the security forces in Kabal tehsil of Swat district, expressed repentance over their involvement in militant activities. They included Mohammad Ala Muqam, Shamsul Haq, Hafiz Siddiq Ali, Farman Ali and Khurshid.
