TI chief plans Knowledge City

MIANWALI, Oct 17 Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday unveiled plans to establish 'Namal Knowledge City' at Namal, some 31 kilometres from here.

The PTI chief, who had earlier established Namal College a year ago, formally announced the establishment of Namal Knowledge City which would be completed by 2020. At this occasion, the Bradford University vice-chancellor, Bradford University programme coordinator and members of Namal College board of directors (BoDs) were present.

Speaking at this occasion, Imran said that on the inauguration of Namal College he had announced to convert this whole area into a knowledge city.

He said that Namal College BoD consisted of personalities who established Lahore University of Management Sciences and such other institutions.

The knowledge city would require Rs1 billion for its completion and it would be a project much bigger than Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.

He said that the city would have a university, medical college, hospital and other educational institutions.
