LAHORE An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday gave 10-year rigorous imprisonment to Hijratullah, an Afghan national involved in a terrorist attack on the Manawan police training school in March this year. He was caught by security forces when he tried to hurl a hand-grenade on an army helicopter outside the school.
The Manawan police registered two cases against Hijratullah under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
During custody, he also admitted to his involvement in a bomb blast in Peer Makki area of Lahore in 2008. However, the court acquitted him in this case as the prosecution failed to produce any cogent evidence against him.
ATC judge Masood Arshad conducted trial in Kot Lakhpat jail and convicted Hijratullah in one case while the other case is still pending.
