KASUR, Feb 22: Known stage performer Shauki Khan and actress Anila were killed while five others sustained injuries late Friday night in an accident on Ferozepur Road near Thathi Dogran village, some 11km from here.

Police said actor Ghiasuddin alias Shauki Khan along with his six companions was on his way from Lahore to Kot Rukan Din Khan by a pick-up (3552-F-Karachi). Near Pakki Haveli, an oncoming tractor (1231-MH) at high speed collided with the pick-up. Shauki Khan, who was driving the vehicle, died instantly while six others received critical wounds. They were rushed to General Hospital, Lahore, for their serious condition where actress Anila died. The other injured were identified as Sarina Khan, Zainab, Ijaz Haider, Abdul Razzaq and Salman.

Mustafaabad police have registered a case against the absconding tractor driver.
