KARACHI: Defending champions Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his Dutch partner Jean-Julien Rojer failed to retain the Estoril Open on Sunday as Satiago Gonzalez and Scott Lipsky remained unbeaten in the ATP World Tour Finals.

The Pak-Dutch duo lost 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 in 89 minutes. Qureshi had to receive medical attention in the middle of the match due to which the top seeds suffered. Earlier, the pair beat Italy's Daniele Bracciali and Fabio Fognini 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 to reach the final.

“We played well and enjoyed playing the bigger matches,” Lipsky said after winning. “We were almost down match point in our first-round match [against Robin Haase and Igor Sijsling], so we got lucky.”

Qureshi and Rojer had defeated Julian Knowles of Austria and David Marrero of Spain to win the title in 2012. They are set to play in the Madrid Open next week.
