PESHAWAR: Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Saturday accused the interim government and the Election Commission of Pakistan, and said elections results would not be acceptable under the current law and order situation.
Speaking at a press conference at the Bacha Khan centre in Peshawar, the former provincial minister severely criticised the caretaker government and the ECP.
Hussain said that the administration and the ECP had completely failed, and had been unable to deliver a security plan since the past one and a half months.
The Awami National Party (ANP) leader said that his party candidates were being targeted.
“If there are no election candidates left, then who will they provide security to on Election Day?” remarked Hussain.
He said that the ANP were being stopped from electioneering to pave the way for the terrorists and their accomplices.
Hussain said that he was unable to visit his own constituency due to security threats.

I sympathize with Khan Sb. and his comments are right but would like to say what was Khan Sb government and his coalition partners doing in KP, Karachi and rest of Pakistan during the last 5 years. Where was the security plan then and what about the anti-terror state policy then. They should have gone after the TTP et all mercilessly like Musharraf went in Lal Masjid. It would have been a different Pakistan now.He expects that the caretakers do in days and weeks what his government could not do in months and years. Sorry Khan Sb you will now have to reap what you have sowed.

So the ANP has accepted their defeat and as a result come up with lame excuse. Grow up Mr Hussain, you had 5 years to sort out the law and order situation.
Now - the people will judge you for what you have done.

Mian Iftikhar is absolutely right . He is an outstanding personality and I respect him and his views . The ECP is a very corrupt organization and is leaning heavily towards Nawaz Sharif . I , for one, do not expects fair results in these elections . You will see how unfair the polling process will be and it is quite likely that a lot of parties may reject the results of the elections . This ECP is probably worst ECP ever and I feel sorry for Fakhru Bhai for sitting on top of this filth .

Internal security are the concurrent responsibility of the centre and provincial subject. Why is the governor KPK throwing the ball in the court of ECP? He coordinate it out with the centre.

Taliban are also sons of this land. They are not alien. We must accept them as an equal power. We must shun the ego and give them due share in the power distribution. I also want want to remind Mr. Iftikhar Hussain that ANP is no longer a leftist party. In Pakistan presently there is no leftist. All are status quo paties, and they can not bring real change in the destiny of nation.

Now it hurts you, doesnt it? For you it is OK to kill over 5000 people of Karachi while you adopt mufahmat ki policy between ANP, MQM, & PPP. And not to mention you remember the Kalabagh dam that you so oppose in towing the line of your masters in New Delhi?
By the way, who calling terrorists? You ARE the terrorists, and hateful of Pakistan. Your leader Bacha Khan did not even want to be buried in Pakistan. ANP is actually Awami National Pathetics

Well these three parties (PPP, ANP, MQM) ruled the country for five long years and under their rule thousands of innocent Pakistanis were butchered. These parties were even busy spreading their own terror in Karachi when they were killing each other every single day. They are crying foul now since they are the targets now. It's a shame that their Govt. failed to provide security to the people of Pakistan and now they are reaping the rewards of the seeds they have sowed.

There is no security to ANP, MQM and PPP. Poles are not free and fair.
ECP and RO not fair. 62 and 63 not implemented. If results unacceptable means an other BD.

I do agree with ANP leadership. No one will accept these results not only in Pakistan but also abroad. One feels as if rightists are given free hand which will prove counterproductive for the federation.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain Hussain cannot blame the ECP failure of law and order. It is the failure of the out going provincial government and the centre. The ANP is reaping the harvest. Even if they do not boycott the May 11 elections the voter shall kick them out.

To serve the nation it is not necessary that one contest election and come to the parliament. If you genuinely want to provide relief to the people you come forward and take initiative without playing politics.
