LAHORE, April 23: Tainted in the 2010 spot-fixing case, former captain Salman Butt on Tuesday confirmed his availability to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for any rehabilitation programme in keeping with decision of the ICC tribunal.

“The PCB has also confirmed receipt of my letter sent by my lawyer,” said Salman.

He added that as he had no further room to appeal against suspension of the ten-year ban imposed on him by the ICC tribunal, he had to confirm his availability to the PCB for the rehabilitation programme.

Though the ICC had imposed on Salman a ban for ten years, five years can be suspended in case the former captain commits no further breach of the ICC code of conduct in the next five years.

Salman refused to comment on the statement of ICC chief executive Dave Richardson on Tuesday in which he has urged the three suspended players (Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Aamir and Salman) to publicly accept their involvement in the conspiracy.
