19 brigadiers promoted

ISLAMABAD, Jan 24: The selection board for promotion of brigadier to the rank of major-general on Friday approved promotions of 14 brigadiers of different arms and services of the Pakistan Army.

The chief of Army Staff, Gen Pervez Musharraf, presided over the board which took up promotions for 2003.

Those officers who have been promoted include, Brig Saeed Ullah Khan, Brig Amir Faisal Alvi and Brig Mohammad Mustafa Khan from Armoured Corps, Brig Moahmmad Siddique, Brig Zahid Hussain Khan, Brig Mohammad Farooq and Brig Masood Hassan from Artillery, Brig Asif Ali from Engineers, Brig Shoukat Sultan Khan, Brig Tahir Mahmood, Brig Shahid Iqbal, Brig Mohammad Akram Sahi and Brig Ahmed Shuja Pasha from Infantry and Brig Syed Shahid Mukhtar Shah from Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.

Those officers for Army Medical Corps have been promoted include, Brig Abdul Qadir Usmani, Brig Farrukh Seir, Brig Mohammad Aslam, Brig Mohammad Amin Wiqar, and Brig Tassawar Hussain.—APP
