ISLAMABAD, Oct 8: The ministry of science and technology has terminated the contract of managing director of Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Sohail Shahid, after the charges of corruption proved against him.

However, it said the ministry did not intend to terminate the services of other officers of the board.

The decision to this respect was taken in an extraordinary meeting when the charges of corruption, misuse of power, violation of rules, negligence and violation of propriety were brought against Mr Sohail by the office of the Auditor General of Pakistan and by the inquiry committee constituted by the ministry to investigate the findings of special audit report about the PSEB.

The committee, constituted under the directives of science and technology minister, has also established the allegations.

An official announcement said financial adviser of the finance ministry has also made similar recommendations.
