ISLAMABAD, Nov 11: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Saturday launched wireless application protocol service (WAP) for the availability of the recently announced secondary school certificate (SSC) supplementary examination-2001 results on mobile phones.

The system was inaugurated by the federal education minister, Zobaida Jalal, during a visited to the FBISE office. She was received by the board chairman, Allah Wadhayo Baloch. The FBISE secretary, Naveed Saeed, was also present on the occasion.

The new system will allow the cellular phone users to access the board examination results at its web site any time. At present, the service is available only in Lahore and Karachi in the country.

The FBISE, in an announcement, claimed that by providing this facility, it had taken a lead in the use of modern technology to facilitate students and teachers.

It said the WAP facility would also be provided to other cities of the country from next year.
