HYDERABAD, Aug 18: The Institute of Sindhology has decided to review its aims and objectives and set priorities to cater to the changing needs in research.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the advisory board of the institute held here on Saturday.

The meeting decided that the institute would concentrate on publication of books and preservation of valuable books and would also make efforts to reach out to the community.

It also decided that only research and market oriented books would be published. A committee was formed to arrange proper marketing of the books of the institute.

The meeting formed another committee to decide about the usage of audio-visual techniques to highlight the services of the prominent Sindhi personalities in the fields of art and music.

The meeting also decided that after review of the thesis of the the late Abdullah Warayo, on coins of Sindh, by experts, the thesis would be published by the institute.

The meeting discussed the extension of the institute museum and galleries of prominent personalities of Sindh.

The meeting constituted various committees for publication and purchase of books and collection of valuable material and old coins.

The meeting decided that the catalogue of the available books and the introduction of the Sindhology would be published in Sindhi, Urdu and English languages.

The committee decided to produce a documentary on the institute for the visitors.

The meeting condoled the sudden demise of the noted playwright an short story writer Razzaq Mahar.

The meeting was presided over the vice chancellor, University of Sindh, and attended by Dr N.A. Baloch, Dr G.A. Allana, Ibrahim Joyo, Dr Abdul Jabbar Junejo, Prof Mehtab Akber Rashdi, Dr Rafia Shaikh, Prof Ghulam Hussain Khaskheli, Dr Qasim Bughio, Dr Yaqoob Mughal, Dr Sarfaraz Bhatti and others.
