ISLAMABAD, Aug 4: The newly elected president of the Mazdoor Kissan Party, Fatehyab Ali Khan, has said that his party will cooperate with the leftist and progressive parties in the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking to the media persons here on Sunday Mr Khan pledged that if voted to power his party will provide free education upto matric for all and restore the 1973 Constitution in its original form.

Mr Khan, who was elected central president of the MKP at a convention in Peshawar on Saturday, said that his party supported the on-going campaign of teachers against privatization of educational institutions.

He said that the three-day convention of his party, which was also attended by other like-minded parties, including Communist Mazdoor Kissan Party of Pakistan, had adopted resolutions against contract system in various organizations.

He said that his party would establish labour and kissan courts after coming into power.

Mr Khan expressed his strong opposition to the absentee landlordism and vowed to launch struggle so that it could be abolished.

He said that unlimited ownership of land must be eliminated for the greater welfare of the common peasants and working class.
