KARACHI, July 9: The Bishop of Karachi and Balochistan, Rt. Rev. Sadiq Daniel, on Tuesday said that status of the Trinity Methodist Girls School has been raised to intermediate college.

Addressing a gathering of Christian councillors and social workers at ‘Darul Khushnud’, he said the present diocese management was striving hard to provide better education to children, particularly those with limited economic means.

“I am for modern methods of teaching in educational institutions and my first commitment after taking over the charge of Bishop, will be to enhance the standard of education in accordance with the present requirements,” he said.

He asked all the councillors and workers to spread out in their areas to solve difficulties faced by parents when it came to educating their children in good schools.

Improvements for streamlining the system in educational institutions under the Karachi Diocese is part of a crash programme undertaken by the new management.

The new girls college is located within the premises of the Trinity Methodist Girls School and its operations are scheduled to commence by the end of summer holidays. This is the first college in the diocese. Programme for admissions in the college is expected to be announced shortly.—PPI
