8 students die in wall collapse

QUETTA, April 6: Eight children of a religious school were killed and nine others, including a teacher, injured when a school wall collapsed on Saturday, hospital sources said.

The children were studying in the Madressah Taj-ul-Quran in Ettehad Colony when mud-brick wall collapsed as water had pooled around it after heavy rains three days ago.

A doctor on duty said children mostly died of head injuries.

The deceased have been identified as Bibi Fatima (5), Bibi Khadija (5), Bibi Tayyaba (6), Bibi Rashada (8), Bibi Foaiza (6), Gul Seema (10), Farid Ahmed (6) and Sano Ahmed (4).
