RIYADH, Dec 4: Saudi Arabian security forces have arrested the brother of a slain terrorist on suspicion of his involvement in terrorist activities, officials said on Saturday.

Interior Ministry spokesman Brig Gen Mansour Turki said the suspect had been under surveillance and was taken into custody in Taif, in western Saudi Arabia, for interrogation.

"This man is the brother of one of the terrorists figuring on the list of 26 most-wanted suspects in the kingdom, who was killed in a confrontation with police," said Mr Turki.

He said the suspect was surprised when the police surrounded his house in Taif where he surrendered without any resistance.

The official Saudi list of 26 terrorists had been issued in Dec 2003. At least six have surrendered to benefit from a royal amnesty while 10 others are still being sought.
