Rs1m cash awards for players

ISLAMABAD, March 3: Cash awards worth over Rs.one million were awarded on Wednesday to Pakistani squash players for winning different events in four tournaments abroad in 2004-05.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat, was the chief guest at the dinner hosted by Pakistan Squash Federation to distribute awards amongst the Pakistani teams winning medals at British Junior 2004 and 2005, Asian Junior 2005 and the Qatar International Junior Championships 2005.

1. BRITISH JUNIOR 2004

(a) Rs 50,000/- Each to Waqar Mehboob and Aamir Atlas for winning Gold Medal in U-13 and U-15 age categories.

(b) Rs 30,000/- to Farhan Mehboob for Silver Medal in U-17. (c) Rs 10,000/- to Mehboob Khan (Assistant Coach).

(d) Rs 20,000/- to Rehmat Khan (National Coach).

2. BRITISH JUNIOR 2005

(a) Rs 50,000/- Each to Farhan Zaman, Shohaib Hassanfor and Basit Ashfaq for winning Gold Medal in U-13, U-15 and U-19 age.

(b) Rs 30,000/- to Bilal Zaman for Silver Medal in U-17 group.

(c) Rs 15,000/- to Ayaz Khan (Assistant Coach).

3. ASIAN JUNIOR 2005

(a) Rs 60,000/- Each to the team members (Amir Atlas, Bilal Zaman, Aqib Hanif & Alamzeb) for Gold Medal.

(b) Rs 100,000/- to Aamir Atlas for Gold Medal in the Individual Event.

(c) Rs 30,000/- to Rehmat Khan (National Coach).

4. QATAR INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR 2005

(a) Rs 30,000/- Each to the team members (Danish Atlas, Farhan Zaman, Aurangzeb & Nosherwan for U-13 and Waqar Mehboob, Shohaib Hassan, Tahir Iqbal and Asif Khan for U-15 teams) for Gold Medal in both the groups.

(b) Rs 25,000/- Each to Danish Atlas and Waqar Mehboob for Gold Medal in the Individual Event of U-13 and U-15 age.

(c) Rs 20,000/- Each to Farhan Zaman and Shohaib Hassan for Silver Medal in the Individual Event of U-13 and U-15 age group.
