KARACHI, March 1: Two Iranian navy ships Iris Bandar Abbas and Iris Larak arrived on Monday here at Karachi Port on a five-day goodwill visit to Pakistan.

A press release of the ISPR (Navy) issued here on Tuesday stated that Commander Naser Dadashi is heading Iris Bandar Abbas, a supply ship carrying a crew of 225 members whereas Commander Ramin Taghipour is heading Iris Larak, an amphibious ship carrying 235 crew members.

Soon after their arrival, the Flag Officer of visiting ships Captain Navid Delnavazfard along with the Commanding Officers went to Quaid's mausoleum and laid a floral wreath and offered fateha.

Later, Captain Navid called on Commander Pakistan Fleet Vice-Admiral Mohammad Haroon and Commander Karachi Rear Admiral Asad Qureshi at their respective headquarters.

He remained with them for some time and exchanged views on the matters of professional interest. During their stay at Karachi, the Iranian officers and sailors will visit Pakistan Navy's training establishments and operational units where they will be given briefings regarding operational preparedness and various aspects of professional training.

They will also visit the submarine construction site, workshops at Dockyard and various combat platforms of PN fleet. Various sports fixtures have also been arranged between Iranians and Pakistan Navy personnel, the ISPR press release added. -APP
