UAE prince calls on Pervaiz

LAHORE, Feb 27: Prince Sheikh Maktoom Hashar bin Maktoom of the United Arab Emirates called on Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi here on Sunday.

Matters of mutual interest, relations between Pakistan and the UAE, cooperation in various sectors of development sports came under discussion during the meeting.

The CM said a comprehensive programme was being implemented in the province to encourage sports and recreational activities for ensuring maximum participation of people.

He said steps were also being taken to promote cultural and historical identity of Lahore. He said foreign investors were not only showing keen interest in investment in the Punjab but were also taking practical measures in this regard.

Sheikh Maktoom said the government was taking effective and coordinated steps for introducing Pakistan as an enlightened and moderate country. He said trade opportunities between the two countries were increasing. Meanwhile, the chief minister expressed his grief and sorrow over the death of some children in a road accident near Lilla Salt Range on motorway.
