Six rockets fired at checkpoint

QUETTA, Jan 17: Six rockets were fired by unidentified persons at a checkpoint of the Frontier Corps in the mountainous area of Bolan, blowing up a power tower near Bibi Nani.

According to reports, miscreants fired six rockets in the wee hours of Monday, targeting the checkpoint of the Frontier Corps in Bolan area. No casualty was reported.

Meanwhile a spokesman for Quetta Electricity Supply Company (Qesco) in a statement said that the 132-kV Quetta-Sibi double circuit tower No. 238 was blown up, suspending power supply to the area.

The statement added that the damage to the tower affected power supply but additional arrangements were made from the 220-kV double circuit to provide electricity to adjoining areas.
