Afghan official, guards attacked

KANDAHAR, June 15: Two gunmen on motorcycles shot and wounded the head of the Afghan government's refugee department in the Kandahar province on Tuesday and killed two of his bodyguards, an official said.

Hamid Agha Hashimi was shot outside his house in the village of Loya Wara in the centre of Kandahar province, and is in very serious condition in the US military hospital in Kandahar, a government official said. -Reuters
