Atiq replaces Naveen

KARACHI, June 15: Pakistan snooker captain Naveen Perwani will miss the Peace Cup clash with India due to his father Ramesh's illnes. His place in the six-man squad will be taken by 22-year-old Atiq Latif Bux, scion of the late and great Latif Amir Bux.

The PBSA vice-president Shahnawaz Khan will lead the team as the non-playing captain and manager. The other members in the squad are Saleh Mohammad, Mohammad Yousuf, Khurram Hussain Agha, Imran Shehzad and Atiq Latif Bux.

The team leaves for New Delhi on Wednesday 16 by PIA along with PBSA officials Ali Asghar Valika and Alamgir Sheikh. With the current Asian champion Alok Kumar and world champion 17-year-old Pankaj Advani in the Indian squad, Pakistan will have a tough task ahead to defend the Peace Cup, a trophy won in Karachi six months ago.
