LAHORE, March 8: As many as 100 special franchised buses will ply between the Qadhafi Stadium and different parts of the city during the India-Pakistan cricket series.

District coordination officer Khalid Sultan said this while presiding over a meeting of transporters here on Monday. The DCO, who is also chairman of the District Regional Transport Authority, said the franchised bus operators should get permits for plying buses to the Qadhafi Stadium from the DRTA secretary by Wednesday.

He said the bus operators desirous of operating buses to the stadium should ensure that people did not face any problem. Banners should be displayed on the buses for transportation to the stadium and back.

The DCO said all franchised bus companies should also increase the number of buses in operation in the city district by 50 per cent. The meeting was attended by the representatives of Daewoo, New Khan, Baloch, Premier, Chatha and Monolite transport companies.
