Pakistan, India in different groups

LAHORE, Feb 19: Pakistan and India are placed in different groups in the fifth Junior Asia Cup hockey to be held at Hockey Club of Pakistan, Karachi from April 20 to 29.

Pakistan with Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and Singapore are in pool 'A. India have been grouped with China, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Sri Lanka making it a 10-team contest.

According to the draws announced by the International Hockey Federation (FIH), Pakistan play the opener against Singapore on April 20, against Taiwan on April 21, Japan on April 23 and South Korea on April 25.

April 26 will be the rest day. After playing pool matches, teams from group A and B will clash with each other on April 27. The classification matches will be played on April 28 and the final on April 29.

Draws: April 20 (Tuesday): Malaysia vs Sri Lanka; Bangladesh vs China; Pakistan vs Singapore; Taiwan vs Japan.

April 21 (Wednesday): China vs India; Malaysia vs Bangladesh; Japan vs South Korea; Pakistan vs Taiwan.

April 22: South Korea vs Singapore; India vs Sri Lanka.

April23: Japanvs Pakistan; Singapore vs Taiwan; China vs Malaysia; Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh.

April 24: (Saturday): Taiwan vs Korea; Bangladesh vs India.

April25: SriLanka vs China; Singapore vs Japan; India vs Malaysia; Korea vs Pakistan.

April 26 (Monday): Rest Day.

April 27: Third place of Pool A vs Fourth place of Pool B Fifth placed of Pool A vs Fifth placed of Pool B; Third placed of Pool B vs Fourth placed of Pool A; Top of Pool A vs Runners-up of Pool B; Top of Pool B vs Runners-up of Pool A.

April 28 (Wednesday): Classification matches.

April 29: (Thursday): final
