BAHAWALPUR, Jan 28: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has praised the role of the Sadiq Public School in educating youth and developing them into successful men in practical life.

In his message to the school on the second day of the golden jubilee celebrations on Wednesday, the president also lauded the role of its students during the past 50 years. He said the institution had made a remarkable contribution in the fields of education and sports.

The president expressed his pleasure over the fact that 30 old Sadiqians were members of Senate, National and provincial assemblies and other professionals.

Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, who is presiding over the function today (Thursday), said the school could take pride in being able to achieve its objectives laid down by its founders. The institute, he said, had served the country well over the years.

He expressed delight to learn that a separate branch for girls had just started functioning. Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool, who is president of the school board of governors, said in his message that the SPS had become one of the premier institutions of the country.
