ISLAMABAD, Nov 10: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi informed the National Assembly on Monday that six Pakistanis were held in the Guantanamo bay detention camp.

The Foreign Office had said on October 31 that there were five Pakistanis in the US prison.

The foreign minister identified the six Pakistanis as Hafiz Qari Mohammed Saad Iqbal Madni (sent to Guantanamo in July 2002), Saifullah Paracha (Sept 2004), Abdul Rabbani Abd Al Rahim Abu Rahman (Sept 2004), Mohammad Ahmad Ghulam Rabbani (Sept 2004), Majid Khan (The State Department could not give the date when he was brought to Guantanamo bay) and Ammar Al Baluchi (Sept 2006).

The minister said the government had been trying at political and diplomatic levels for early repatriation of the Pakistanis.
