KARACHI, Aug 11: A man committed suicide after killing his wife over a dispute in Korangi on Monday, police said.

A duty officer of the Korangi Industrial Area said that 40-year-old Bashir Ahmed shot his wife, Farzana, 36, in the head. Later, he shot at himself with the same weapon. The incident occurred when their children were at school.

Police are not sure what drove Bashir Ahmed to kill his wife and commit suicide but said that some domestic altercation reportedly triggered the incident.

Police shifted the bodies to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination.
