KARACHI, Aug 11: Senior leaders of Businessmen Group on Monday expressed their complete neutrality in national politics while maintaining that their stance was in the supreme interest of the group and strictly in accordance with the articles of charter of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In a statement Siraj Kassim Teli, Tahir Khaliq, Zubair Motiwala, Haroon Faruqi, Shamim Shamsi and Iftikhar Ahmad said that none of them was affiliated with any political party.

The explanatory statement comes in the wake of reports that President Pervez Musharraf, now in line of fire of coalition ruling alliance, was offered a forum recently twice to articulate his views in the city by businessmen closely linked with KCCI politics.
