SUKKUR, August 8: Acting on the orders of District and Sessions Judge, an official rescued on Friday a man kept in illegal detention in Mirpur Mathelo police station.

Sikandar Korai moved an application in the court of District and Sessions Court stating that his brother Shahbaz Korai, booking clerk with a transport company at Mirpur Mathelo Bypass, was picked up by Mirpur Mathelo SHO Ghulam Hussain Dahiri on Wednesday on the charge of motorcycle snatching. He was kept in illegal detention and without the registration of case against him, he said.

The District and Sessions Judge appointed a court official, Ghulam Mustafa Behan, as Raid Commissioner and ordered him to recover the illegal detainee from police custody who after conducting raid recovered Shahbaz Korai.

The Raid Commissioner ordered the SHO to appear before court along with the relevant record on Saturday.

ROBBERY: Dacoits deprived three villagers of a tractor, two motorcycles, and four buffaloes in Pir Bux Manghra village near Mirpur Mathelo on Friday.

A group of 20 armed men after barging in the homes of Ghous Bux Manghra, Ali Hassan Manghra and Sain Dad Manghra, overpowered inmates on gunpoint and made good their escape along with a tractor, two motorcycles and four buffaloes.

Police chased them after which firing from both sides ensued near Mir Pitafi village resulting in the arrest of Abdul Khaliq alias Khaliqoo in injured condition, while rest fled along with the loot, sans buffaloes.

Police claimed to have recovered a KK rifle and bullets from his possession. Later, the injured dacoit was admitted to the Civil Hospital, Mirpur Mathelo, but no case was registered till this report.

ARRESTS: Police arrested seven suspects and recovered stolen motorcycle from their possession during a raid in Bozdar Colony, Mirpur Mathelo, on Thursday.

A heavy contingent of police after raiding Bozdar Colony conducted house to house search and succeeded in arresting seven suspects including, Mithoo Bozdar, Talib Bozdar, Yousuf Bozdar, Younis Bozdar and others. Police claim to have recovered stolen motorcycle from their possession.

Police sources said that the raid was aimed at arresting the culprits involved in the murder of Mohammad Bux Malhan, last week.
