Mother of two killed by cousin

TOBA TEK SINGH, Aug 5: A youth killed his cousin over an affair in Chak 358-GB, Mughli, on Tuesday.

Riaz axed his cousin, a mother of two, to death when he saw her in objectionable condition with a youth of the same village.

Sadar police have registered a case against Riaz.

HOUSE ROBBED: Robbers looted the house of a trader. Three robbers forced their entry into the house of bookseller Qazi Abdul Waheed in Gujjar Basti, held his wife and children hostage and took away gold ornaments and valuables worth Rs300,000.

INJURED: At least 12 people were injured in a stampede after firing at a folksinger at a village fair here late on Monday night.

Folksinger Allah Ditta Loonaywala was singing in Dhollri village, near Kamalia, about 40 kilometres from Toba Tek Singh, in connection with annual urs of Darbar Dhollri Sharif when an unidentified man asked him to sing a song of his choice. The singer refused and the man opened fire at him.

A stampede ensued, however, the singer and his musicians remained safe.
