LAHORE, July 6: Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) leaders have criticised the provincial government “for pushing the people towards confrontation to sabotage the democratic system”.

PML-Q Punjab Secretary General Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, MPA, said in a statement the people had voted for the ruling coalition to resolve their problems but they were trying to promote confrontation instead. He said rulers had no policy for the welfare of people and only wanted to bring the people on roads to pave way for a fresh election.

Another MPA Muhammad Yar Heraj said people found it hard to make both ends meet on account of unprecedented inflation. The government, however, was trying to undermine the unity of the opposition instead of controlling the prices of essential commodities, he said.
