QUETTA, June 29: A boy was burned to death and four people suffered injuries when a house caught fire after a gas pipeline was blown up near Sui town on Sunday.

According to police sources, an explosive device blew up the 26-inch pipeline on the outskirts of the town. The blast created panic among local people.

“A 13-year-old boy died when the fire engulfed his house after the explosion,” a senior police officer told Dawn.

He said the injured were immediately taken to a hospital in Sui. The fire was brought under control after gas supply from Pir Koh was stopped.

Gas supply to Punjab and Sindh was also reduced.

“Repair work is expected to be completed some time on Monday,” said the sources.
