VEHARI, June 23: Two cousins killed their married sisters on Sunday night on suspicion of having relations with a youth at Chak 109-WB, some five kilometers from Mailsi.

Mitro police said that two brothers, Asghar Ali and Muhammad Ali, had a case registered against Shaukat Arain of the same village for abducting their daughters on March 8.

Police suspected that both girls had relations with Shaukat and they eloped with him on March 1. The girls were recovered with the help of some influential people of the area after a few days.

On April 20, ‘S’, the daughter of Asghar, was married to Basharat Ali of Sheikhupura and ‘R’, the daughter of Muhammad Ali, was wedded to Arshad of the same village.

Both girls reportedly came to their parents’ on their request to give statements before court regarding the kidnap case. But the girls refused to give statement against accused Shaukat Arain.

On Sunday night, Manzoor Ali shot dead his sister ‘S’ while two hours later Jamshed Ali suffocated to death his sister ‘R’ as well.

Accused Manzoor courted arrest while Jamshed escaped. Mitro police handed over the bodies to their families after autopsy.

Police have started investigation.
