KHAIRPUR, June 17: The manager of the Zarai Taraqiati Bank’s Chondiko branch and his driver are feared to have been kidnapped.

ZTBL official Nizam Kubar, resident of Hussain Bux Kubar village of Thari Mirwah taluka, and was going to Khairpur from Nara on Monday in a car driven by Mushtaq Mirani when they went missing.

Relatives of the bank manager informed the Sorah police which launched a search for the missing men along Sorah-Kotdiji road and got clue that they did not pass through the road.

After searching the mountainous area, the relatives and police found the car of Mr Kubar with damaged doors. Khairpur DPO Ghulam Nabi Memon visited the place where the car was found and met the relatives of Mr Kubar. The DPO assured them that the police would make efforts to recover Mr Kubar and his driver.

BODY FOUND: The body of a young woman was recovered from a well near Khanupr Junejo in the jurisdiction of the B-section police here on Tuesday.

The area people informed the police after foul smell spread from the well. On search, the police recovered the body and took it to Civil Hospital Khairpur for post-mortem. The body remained unclaimed till the filing of this report.

It is believed that the woman had been killed after being tortured three to four days ago and her body was thrown into the well.
