SUKKUR, June 16: Ubauro police registered a case against nine persons including four policemen, on Sunday on the charges of kidnapping and criminally assaulting a woman four days ago.

The woman, resident of Muslim Colony, Ubauro, on Saturday filed an application with the District and Sessions Judge, Ghotki, Irshad Ali Shah. She stated that two days ago when she was alone at home four policemen of Ubauro police station including, Mohammad Ramzan Sudh, Sahib Dino Chachar, Mohammad Qasim Dhondho and Haider Ali broke into her house. They kidnapped her at gunpoint and later took her to the police station where she was gang raped by nine people.

The judge ordered Ubauro police to register a case against nine people, including four policemen and following court’s order, a case was registered at Ubauro police station against nine accused including four policemen Mohammad Ramzan Sudh, Sahib Dino Chachar, Mohammad Qasim Dhondho and Haider Ali and five unidentified, but no arrest had so far been made.

When this correspondent contacted the SPO Ubauro Manzoor Ahmed Phull on his cell phone, he confirmed the registration of case against the policemen but declined to comment further.

Meanwhile, Ghotki DPO suspended an ASI and a police constable on Monday for torturing a teenaged boy at Rawnti police station on Sunday.

Abdul Sattar Panhwar, 14, was on his was on a motorcycle when dashed into a donkey cart on Saturday. The donkey cart owner beat the boy and handed him over to Rawnti police where according to the boy, ASI Sikandar Malik and police constable Nazir Khoso tortured him mercilessly.

On Monday, scores of Panhwar tribesmen staged protest demonstration in front of the DPO office and on this the DPO Ghotki Jawed Alam Odho immediately suspended ASI Sikandar Malik and police constable Nazir Khoso.
