HYDERABAD, June 16: Qasimabad police lodged a case against ASI of Qasimabad police station on Monday on the orders of sessions’ judge on charges of detaining a police constable in wrongful confinement.

Ismail Shah, the police constable, said in his application to the judge that he went to the police station to lodge an FIR after he was robbed of his cell phone by one Mohammad Yasin and two unidentified people in the limits of Qasimabad police station.

But instead of lodging his case, ASI Mohammad Akram detained him in wrongful confinement for several hours and released him after taking bribe, he alleged.

The court directed Qasimabad police to register the case if a cognisable offence was made out and police lodged the case against Mohammad Yasin, two unidentified people and ASI Mohammad Akram under sections 345, 504, 114 of PPC and 115 Police Order 2002.
