KOHAT, June 11: Some militants kidnapped an official of the International Rescue Committee working for Afghan refugees, in the Shini Kalay area of Darra Adamkhel on Wednesday.

According to an official report, an IRC vehicle was coming to Kohat from Peshawar when it was intercepted by militants in Shini Kalay. The militants took away purchase officer Naseer-ud-Din along with the vehicle and released the driver after snatching his cellphone.

One month ago, militants had exploded a bomb at the IRC office in the KDA Township, damaging the building.

KILLED: Three people were killed in different areas of the district on Wednesday.

Shakil Hussain was killed in the Usterzai area on the Kohat-Parachinar road.

Dolat Khan was killed in the Surgul area in the Saddar police station jurisdiction in a dispute over distribution of water to fields. In his complaint to police, the father of the victim, Sheen Gul, accused Zaman, Umar Khan, Abdur Rehman, Shams-ur-Rehman and Jamil-ur-Rehman of killing his son.

Fazlur Rehman was killed in the Jabbar area allegedly by Noor Zaman and Khayal Zaman.—Correspondent
