LAHORE, June 10: Robbers looted four houses and a shop while deprived five people of cash and cell phones in various parts of the provincial capital on Tuesday, police said.

Four robbers entered the house of Mian Qamaruddin in Shadman police limits, and took away 110-tola gold ornaments worth Rs2.3 million, Rs15,000 in cash, 300 Euros and five cell phones.

As many robbers entered the house of Ghoas Chaudhry in the limits of Defence A police and took away Rs100,000 and gold ornaments.

Three robbers barged in the house of Zafar in Iqbal Town police limits and decamped with Rs28,000 and a cell phone.

Two robbers barged in the house of Usman Akhtar in Iqbal Town police jurisdiction and took away Rs90,000, gold ornaments weighing 13 tolas and two cell phones. Two robbers entered a shop in North Cantonment police limits and snatched three cell phones from one Imran.

Seven dacoits deprived one Nadir Ali and others of two motorbikes in the limits of Nishtar Colony police.

Two armed motorcyclists deprived one Shahid Azeem of foreign currency worth hundreds of thousands of rupees in Islampura police limits while as many robbers snatched Rs15,000 and a cell phone from one Yasar Butt in Muslim Town police precinct.

Two armed people deprived one Muhammad Zahid of Rs2,000 and a cell phone in the jurisdiction of Factory Area police station.

Two armed people snatched Rs6,000 and a cell phone from one Umar hayat in limits of Factory Area police.

tortured to death: Unidentified people allegedly tortured a 25-year-old youth to death and threw his body at Chuhng area on Tuesday.

The police said the victim, still to be identified, bore marks of burns on his back that suggested he had been subjected to severe torture with an electric iron.

DIES: An 18-year-old boy succumbed to injuries at a local hospital on Tuesday, 16 days after he was shot at and wounded by unidentified people at Bhati Gate.

Police said some assailants had shot at and injured Saleem, son of Abdul Majeed of Karim Park (Ravi Road), on May 25.
