KARACHI, Oct 23: The bodies of six of the 34 Pakistanis killed in the US bombing on Kabul will reach Karachi on Wednesday, according to Mufti Mohammad Jameel of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam.

Speaking to Dawn, he said those killed included 22 from Karachi, and added that they were killed in a US raid on a Kabul neighbourhood known as Darul Aman.

He said the remains of the others were mutilated and only six bodies could be retrieved.

According to him, the bodies would reach Peshawar from Kabul by road and these would be transported to Karachi by air.

The DIG Karachi Tariq Jamil told Dawn that strict security measures would be taken on Wednesday on the arrival of the bodies. The law enforcement agencies would take every possible steps to maintain law and order situation.

He said the deployment of the law enforcement agencies would also be made at the venue where the funeral prayers would be offered and no one would be allowed to take the law in its hand.
