NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, June 5: People carrying the dead body of a youth demanded registration of murder case against police officials. Residents of Thatt Solangi village were staging protest demonstration on Dalipota-Tharushah Link Road on Thursday. Led by deceased Shaman’s uncle Andal Solangi and brothers Nazeer and Mashooq Solangi protesters kept the body on Dalipota-Tharushah Link Road in protest for about an hour.

They said two groups clashed over a dispute involving children on Tuesday and filed NCs with Dalipota police as people of Mumtaz Solangi influenced police to arrest people of the second group –Andals.

Andal Solangi said area policemen, including ASI Deedar Solangi, ASI Akram Sehto and other police official accompanied by rival group’s Mumtaz, Ghulam Hussain, Ghulam Mustafa and others entered the house of Shaman Solangi and Andal Solangi.

Nazeer and Mashooq, brothers of the deceased said they slipped away when police came but their younger brother Shaman running fever stayed behind. He died of police torture on Wednesday night.

They alleged that police arrested Liaquat Solangi who was injured in the clash between two groups but police were not disclosing his whereabouts.

They demanded of the higher authorities to lodge an FIR against police officials and people of Mumtaz Solangi.

WIDOW’S APPEAL: A widow has appealed to police to ensure registration of an FIR against Tharushah police officials and recovery of her looted items.

Irshad Khatoon w/o Ghulam Nabi Teewno of Ward No. 4 Tharushah along with her children staged demonstration outside the press club.

She complained that an ASI of Tharushah police, Deedar Solangi, head constable Mumtaz Vistro, constables Shahid Kalhoro and Ghulam Nabi Siyal forcibly entered into her house in the second week of April and took away with them gold ornaments, cash, clothes and other items.

She said that she had also filed an application before the sessions judge of Naushahro Feroze on April 14.

The SHO Tharushah on May 29 undertook in the court that her FIR will be lodged once she reported at Tharushah police station.

She said that she was continuously visiting police station but the SHO instead of lodging FIR was pressurising her for a settlement with accused police officials. She complained that she was deprived of Rs10,000 cash, gold ornaments Rs35,000 and clothes etc.

She appealed to higher police authorities to intervene and order recovery of looted cash and other items and lodge an FIR against the accused police officials.
