Five die in tribal clash

SHIKARPUR, May 28: Five people were killed and seven, including a woman injured in armed clash between Shar and Khoso tribesmen in Mad Khoso and Muharram Shar villages on Wednesday.

Rivals attacked each other with automatic weapons resulting in the death of Rafiq Ahmed Shar, Rahujo Shar, Bakhtullah Khoso, Ghulam Sarwar Khoso and an unidentified man.The injured Ms Hakim Zadi Shar, Mohammad Haji Khoso, Mohammad Ilyas Khoso, Mukhtiar Shar, Abdul Wahid Khoso, Rustam Shar and Sohno Shar were taken to Lakhi and Bagarji hospitals.

Motive behind the clash was said to be an ongoing dispute over agriculture land. The feud had until now claimed over dozen lives. No FIR was lodged till the filing of the report.

Panic, harassment and tension prevailed amid deployment of a heavy police contingent in the area to avert further bloodshed.—Correspondent
