Trader killed

THATTA, May 26: Three armed bandits shot dead a goldsmith in Mirpur Bathoro town on Monday when he resisted their attempt to rob his shop, eyewitnesses said.

They said that three armed men with masks over their faces stormed the shop of Khuda Bux Khatti in the morning and overpowered him at gunpoint. When he put up resistance one of the bandits shot him dead and took away about three kilogramme of gold and gold jeweller besides an unspecified amount of cash.

Enraged over the outrageous incident, the townspeople took to the streets and raised slogans against police.—Correspondent
