JWP (Bramdagh) renamed as BRP

QUETTA, May 26: The central executive committee of the Jamhoori Watan Party (Bramdagh) has changed the party’s name, constitution and flag and constituted an interim organising committee to run its affairs.

A statement issued here on Monday said that at a meeting presided over by the party’s vice-president, Haji Hayat Khan Jamaldani, the CEC approved by majority the new structure for the party.

According to the statement, the party had been renamed as Baloch Republican Party (BRP). The triple-coloured flag of the party would have red, green and blue with a star.

The statement said the BRP would continue the struggle for the right of self-determination to accomplish the mission of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.

Militant leader Nawabzada Bramdagh Bugti would be chief organiser of the BRP while Haji Hayat Khan Jamaldani would be deputy-organiser, Bashir Azim organising-secretary and Mir Jalil Reki information-secretary.

According to the statement, the BRP would be struggling for restoration of the Baloch state to protect the coast and resources of the Baloch land.

The meeting expressed concern over foreign interference in Balochistan and maintained that the party would protect the rights and land of Baloch people. The participants lauded the sacrifices rendered by Baloch people, including Nawab Akbar Bugti.

The meeting vowed not to compromise on principles and guideline of the party’s founder and urged the Baloch people to forge unity.
