KARACHI: FIR registered

KARACHI, May 25: The first information report (FIR) of PML-N leader Tariq Khan’s assassination was lodged by his family on Sunday.

Khan was shot dead at the junction of the Shaheed-i-Millat Road and Sharfabad Road on Friday night while he was driving through the area alone.

Two assailants riding a motorcycle attacked him with an automatic weapon. The victim, vice president of the Sindh PML-N suffered multiple bullet wounds and was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital.

Following the incident on Friday night, the police had approached the deceased’s family for the registration of the FIR but the bereaved stated that they would lodge the report after his funeral.

The FIR (212/2008) was registered at the New Town police station on the complaint of Sultan Khan Jauhari, the deceased’s father, against unknown attackers.
