LAHORE, May 18: Taking a cue from two recent incidents in Karachi, scores of angry people subjected a robber to severe torture and tried to set him ablaze outside a cell phone outlet after a robbery on Sanda Road on Sunday.

Reports said four robbers barged into the U-fone shop of one Azam Nisar, held the owner and employees at gunpoint, collected Rs95,000 and 80 cell phones and tried to escape on their two motorcycles.

In the meantime, a citizen managed to capture the robber and started thrashing him. Soon he was joined by a number of people who also managed petrol and a matchbox.
