KARACHI, May 17: Excise and Taxation officials on Saturday arrested a man and recovered four kilogrammes of fine quality heroin from his possession.

The officials nabbed the man, identified as Jamil Ahmed, at the Star Gate after receiving a tip off. They said the suspect hailed from Peshawar and intended to board a flight to Beirut via Doha. During the checking of his luggage, the contraband was recovered.

The estimated value of the recovered quantity has been put at Rs40 million in the international market.

The passport held by the suspect carried visas for Beirut, Doha and Abadan.—APP
