RAWALPINDI, May 16: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Jamal Mustafa on Friday carried out a surprise raid on the Land Registration Branch and suspended four of its officials in the light of public complaints about corruption and other violations.

During the raid, the DCO observed that a junior clerk (registry muharrar urban) was recording the statements of the applicants who wanted to get their properties transferred, in the absence of the registrar. The DCO warned the staff of the registry office to mend their way and redress the grievances of the public, otherwise strict action would be taken against them.—Staff Reporter
