Two shot dead over rivalry

VEHARI, May 11: Three assailants allegedly shot two people dead and another injured over rivalry in Chak 71-WB in Thingi police precincts on Sunday.

Abdul Karim, Haji Yaqub and Haji Khan riding on a motorbike were going from Thingi to Vehari to attend qul of a relative.

When they reached near Chitti Puli, their rivals

Falak Sher, Peer Buksh and Nazir shot at them and fled. Karim and Yaqoob died on the spot while Haji Khan was injured.

He was hospitalised in the rural health centre.

According to the police, both the parties had an old enmity over land disputes and had lodged various cases against each other with Mitro police.

The Thingi police registered a case against the assailants. However, none of them could be arrested till the filing of this report.
