OKARA, May 8: Police registered a dacoity case against Anjuman-i-Mazareen Punjab president of Kulana Estate along with two AMP activists on Thursday.

According to the FIR lodged by one Muhammad Ashraf of 27/2.rA, he was on his way to his village on a motorcycle when AMP Kulana Estate president Malik Saleem Jakkhar, along with Naeem and Zahoor, intercepted him. They deprived Ashraf of his motorcycle and Rs0.2 million at gunpoint and managed to escape, the FIR said.

Mr Jakkhar said the case was baseless and was an arm-twisting tactic to pressurise the AMP activists to weaken the movement for their rights.

He said they would neither go for pre-arrest bails, nor allow police to enter the estate villages to arrest the innocent persons nominated in the false case.

Satgrah SHO Mehmood Gujjar said the investigation would be on merit.

RED CRESCENT: Red Crescent director Shahzad Qaiser said the organisation had been serving people in times of peace and war on humanitarian basis.

He was speaking to DPS students in connection with international day of Red Crescent.

In this connection a walk was held which was led by DPS Principal Firdous Ahmad.

The students participating in the walk were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans for the welfare of humanity.
